MISSION: The mission of this program is to test and create new models for the community-based initiative, the TN Dept of Education Award Winner - The Drop Collaborative (DC) - at our Stoney Creek, Elizabethton, TN location.


DC Mission: Combine Resources, Teach Farming, Donate Harvest, Mentor Youth.



The DC is currently seeking to create new community-based models by way of providing new opportunities & benefits for other under-served populations in its’ home-based local community.


We provide the land, tools and TN Dept of Education Award-Winning curriculum that can be used as a guideline and adapted where needed per population.

Grant Research & Writing Intern

The Drop Collaborative is looking for a self-motivated individual to work with the Executive Director to locate and write grant proposals to secure funding for expansion and program development. The Grant writing intern would also be responsible for creating a calendar of available grants and deadlines for the upcoming year. All work is done remotely. Approx. 10-12 hours a week - depending on grant deadlines (some weeks more, some week less). This is an unpaid internship with performance bonuses. An excellent opportunity to gain experience working with a professional staff in an enthusiastic, community-based Non-profit Organization.



  • Previous grant writing experience is preferred but not required

  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent writing, research and organizational skills

  • A background in agriculture and/or education is preferred

  • Proficient in basic computer programs: MS Office


  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work proactively within a team as well as independently

  • Self-starter, able to think creatively to solve problems
