Two local non-profits, The Drop Collaborative and KidsLikeUs, have partnered to create 'The Enchanted Garden' - ergonomically designed to serve our Special Needs and Senior Citizen populations as their host for classes, workshops, events and respite care. We donate harvest back to the community.
In our space, everything is designed for and from the perspective of Special Needs and Senior Citizens - functionally tailored to their cognitive and behavioral abilities. Remarkably, this approach also enhances the experience for those of all abilities. All are welcome.
There are many ways to be part of the Enchanted Garden.
Students are taught gardening and nutrition.
Classes are conducted onsite that teach canning, baking pies, and other aspects of food-related home economics.
Students are taught garden maintenance, responsibility, teamwork and horticulture skills.
During events, they are hospitality staff and work at concessions stands that sell local art and products.

Our programs are tailored for the Special Needs community, but all are welcome to learn and grow here as well. This is what “Kids Like Us” is all about. We believe that all children and young adults, regardless of ability or disability should:
Have the same opportunity to connect with others
Be able to learn and socially connect with new friends, and
Have a sense of belonging in the community.
